School Supplies

In Kenny's classroom, there is a red folder that contains all of his essential information. A lot of this information is mirrored on this site. There is a duplicate red information folder located in the school office.

Kenny's classroom also has a red bag of diabetes supplies.

This bag contains:

• a glucose meter
• a tube of Dex-4 glucose tablets
• Rockets candy rolls
• a mini can of pop
• a juice box
• pre-moistened hand wipes
• a sharps container
• a note card with quick instructions on when and how to treat a low

Kenny's school bag contains two lunch bags. One will contain his morning or afternoon snack and the other contains an extra snack, an extra-extra snack (in case he drops or spills his snack), a cold mini-pop or juice box, extra glucose sources.

While at school, Kenny will be wearing a Tallygear Tummietote belt. This belt will contain a meter, hand wipes, glucose sources, and a note card with instructions on when and how to treat a low plus parent contact information.

I am also sending a small spiral bound communication book to and from school with Kenny. This can be used to send information to the teacher about Kenny; i.e. if his snack time needs to be changed. The teacher will also be able to note the time and number that a glucose readings were done, or let me know if he/she is running low on supplies.
